We are excited to be recruiting a Advanced Practice Lead to a new and completely different approach to the delivery of unscheduled care. As the Lead you would manage and be responsible for the continuing development of the Rural Support Team in Caithness and Sutherland, who will be based in out of hourís centres within community hospitals or in primary care settings in a variety of locations within North Highland. You would also be responsible for developing and management of the Minor Injury Unit/Urgent Care Centre in The Dunbar Hospital in Thurso.

Leading this prestigious team offers you an exciting opportunity to work in a variety of stunning locations and embrace the unique challenges and opportunities presented by rural practice. You will have experience in a senior clinical or leadership role with a proven track record in and experience of leading service development s. You will require leadership and management skills, and have the ability to be a flexible and adaptive individual.
Clinically, you should be experienced in pre hospital care, community hospital and transfer environments, with extended skills such as non medical prescribing, advanced clinical assessment, BASICs, ALS, PLS, and palliative care, you should also have experience at specialist or advanced practice level within the primary care environment. Opportunities to acquire additional skills would be made available to candidates with the right transferrable skills and knowledge.

In remote and rural locations, the healthcare professional is a key part of the community, which brings specific challenges but can also offer fantastic levels of personal and professional satisfaction. You will be leading a multi disciplinary team and working closely with an extended team of professionals including the Scottish Ambulance Service, RNLI Coastguards, Fire and Rescue Services, Mountain Rescue, and Local Community Hospitals.

This is a full-time permanent post working 37.5 hours per week.
