Tea and bed run (5pm-10pm), 4 days on, 4 days off.
Living in an aging society, we have increased elderly community needing care at home, to stay in their own homes and live life to the full. PPP have become one of the major care providers in the Wick area delivering both traditional and developing self-directed support service to people in Wick and surrounding villages.
Due to further expansion of our services and in order to increase our capacity to meet demand, we need to recruit additional part time Care @ Home support workers to meet the needs of the community’s elderly.
We have been delivering our care service for almost three years now; during this time, we have gained experience, developed the foundations of our service, and trained up our established team. We now want to develop an innovative locally based professional ‘person centred approach’ and develop some of the models used in other areas to provide a service that puts the person first. Would you want to be part of developing this service, helping others and getting job satisfaction on a daily basis because you are improving someone’s life?
Are you – chatty, bubbly and caring, meticulous, reliable and hard working? Willing to train to meet the Health and Social Care Standards, someone who wants to make a difference to elderly people’s quality of life in our community – this vacancy may be for you!
We are looking for someone with a strong emphasis on teamwork, and quality who want to join our committed team of care workers. All staff must register with SSSC, those who want to would be able to complete their SVQ at level 3 once they have gained 12 months experience in the role. PPP pay for SSSC registrations and uniforms, and 40p per mile travel expenses.
We want quality caring staff, and can match up clients on a self-directed support package with a staff member who can deliver a service for those people. All staff must complete an application to join the PVG scheme.
Induction and initial training will be over two weeks and shadowing until the candidate is comfortable in the role. Where possible, we do try to ensure our rotas allow for every second weekend off. This post involves both early morning and evening working.
This post is under represented in male applicants and we are keen to employ more male staff. More than 50% of our clients are men, who enjoy the banter and male conversation. Male workers would only be providing personal care to men.
A valid driving licence, access to a car and business insurance are essential.
Covering letters and CV’s can be emailed to recruitment@pppwick.org.uk or posted in to reception in Pulteney Centre, Huddart Street, Wick for the attention of Recruitment.
Closing date for this post is Monday 7th January 2019 at 12 noon.
