Morson International has contract opportunity for an ELECTRICAL TECHNICIAN. The service will be provided at our Clients Site, Dounreay.

Contract Duration: 12 months
Hourly Rate based on a pa salary of 29,449 to 35,000 (depending on experience)
Enhancements Paid for Overtime Working
Hours of Work: 0800-1615 hours, Monday to Friday
25 Days Annual Leave & 13 Days Dounreay Site Closures (pro rata)
Weekly Payment of Fees

Qualifications& Experience:
Apprenticeship plus HNC Engineering, or equivalent qualifications plus experience
Experience: Minimum 2 years Engineering
Experience in maintenance activities; working to tight schedules; knowledge of safe systems of work

You will be involved in the delivery and support of Plant Maintenance Activities within your discipline field.

TASKS will include but not limited to:

  • Prepare the work area for more complex maintenance of plant, systems or components
  • Carry out planned maintenance activities and defect rectification efficiently, includes defect investigation of causes and proposal of solutions whilst maintaining a focus on programme and resources
  • Utilise diagnostic techniques to identify faults in plants, systems and components
  • Identify and rectify routine maintenance problems where applicable
  • Reinstate the work area after completing the maintenance of plant, systems and components
  • Conduct safe and effective hand over of plant and equipment to others and accept and confirm responsibility for the control of the plant and equipment within the work area isolation boundary
  • Identify obsolescence and end-of-life issues
  • Assess the effectiveness of maintenance procedures and provide required amendments and changes
  • Seek technical support for problems from suppliers/manufacturers/internally
  • Produce fit for purpose job reports describing accurately the work that has been carried out, recommendations, solutions, PMI amendment details, condition assessments, etc
  • Identify areas/opportunities for improvement in processes, working practice, equipment utilisation, etc offering solutions where appropriate
  • Carry out Operational Monitoring
  • Hold a relevant disciplined nominated appointment

  • Assist with apprenticeship development and may be an SVQ Assessor
