COMMUNITY MENTAL HEALTH NURSE
(BAND 6 at 0.68 WTE – 25.5 hours or BAND 5 at 0.86 WTE – 32 hours)

BASED IN CAITHNESS LOCALITY (WICK)

(Salary: Band 5 £23,113 - £29,905/Band 6 £27,635 - £37,010)

An opportunity has arisen for a registered mental health nurse to work within our supportive mental health team in the far north of Scotland.

The client group are people experiencing both both acute and complex enduring mental health problems which is often further complicated by other health conditions i.e. ASD, addictions, mild learning disability etc. The postholder will already have / be keen to develop a range of recovery-based approaches to work collaberatively with and effectively with clients. They will have the ability to autonomously manage their workload safely and effectively, demonstrating enhanced skills such as clinical risk assessment / management and positive risk taking. They will also be responsible for training and support to students and wider colleagues. Previous post registration or CMHT experience is non essential – we welcome individuals who can demonstrate willingness and commitment to develop in this specialised area.

The successful candidate will hold a current valid registration with the NMC. If applyiing for the Band 6, you will have band 5 post registration experience alongside a degree or equivalent specialist knowledge. Experience in community mental health is advantagous but consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate they have the transferrable skills and experience to work autonomously within a remote and rural area.

This is a part time permanent post of either 0.68 WTE at Band 6 or 0.86 WTE at Band 5. In addition you are required to participate in an on call rota which includes provision of a place of safety and escort to New Craig’s Hospital service in Inverness. A current driving licence is essential for this post however a lease car will be offered.
