Are you a leading edge pharmacist ready to take on a new challenge? Do you want to be part of an established team that is re-shaping primary care services?

We are recruiting additional Advanced Pharmacist Practitioners to join our existing team of Advanced Pharmacist Practitioners and Specialist Clinical Pharmacists. These posts were created in response to "Prescription for Excellence" and were quoted as an example model in the new GP contract book in Scotland.

As an Advanced Pharmacist Practitioner, you will be responsible for medicines management at a GP practice in order to optimise the pharmaceutical care of patients. This will include: overseeing repeat prescribing, providing annual medication reviews, undertaking medicines reconciliation, and delivering intensive medicines management for a caseload of patients. For all of these functions, you will take clinical responsibility for patientsí medicines management. In addition, you will provide expert advice to the multidisciplinary team within the practice to ensure the safe and effective use of medicines across all clinical conditions.

These posts require excellent therapeutic knowledge (demonstrated through a post-graduate qualification) and an independent prescribing qualification. North & West Highland Operational Unit supports the development of health professionals to deliver a high quality service, therefore if you do not posses these qualifications we would support you to achieve them within the first year of post (courses start January 2019). You must be able to demonstrate a commitment to continuing professional development, be highly organised and have good IT skills.

North and West Highland is a beautiful part of Scotland which offers an excellent quality of life in a rural setting. It has plentiful outdoor pursuits, affordable housing, low crime rates and a strong sense of community. Relocation packages are available for the successful candidates.

These are full-time permanent posts of 37.5 hours per week to be worked in accordance with service requirements.
