A map of expected nuclear bomb targets in the UK should WW3 be declared (or is it when).

I never thought it would be the Russians that would solve the uk's crime problem!

That's assuming Russia has got around to removing Dounreay from their target list.
In fact, Vulcan is probably still on the list anyway.

It is true that Dounreay and Vulcan would have been on their 'hit list' and assuming they are as good at updating data as the uk ... we are toast!

The two American bases are probably still on the hit list.

Do you think they would want to stifle submarine engine development, after the nuclear war has started?

Doesn’t make much sense to me.

We only have a couple of submarines that are not 'broken' so I can't imagine the Russians will be that interested in our submarine engine development!

It seems that lots of 'target sites' were removed from the nuclear list and put on a conventional bomb list. This was because the US and Russia entered an agreement to limit the amount of warheads they held. Any non threatening site eg Vulcan and Barrow in Furness were to be hit with conventional weapons. I'm sure the Russians have stuck to the reduction agreement and up here we will 'only' be hit be cruise missiles and bunker busting bombs. That's a relief then!
