    Default Wick To Georgemas Road

Is it just me or does it feel like you are driving on a cart track with the state that the Wick to Georgemas road has been allowed to get into?

Most roads in Caithness are like that at the moment!

I agree. It is now very noticeable the determination of the roads in the County, some with very dangerous pot holes.
Worring if there is going to be the money to repair them? If not there is no point paying road tax. Not only are them quickly becoming ‘not fit for purpose’ but I would have thought a healthy and safety issue. If it was a private company with unsafe walkways and roads they would be prosecuted and made to make good.

no such thing as "Road Tax" now, it's an emissions/pollution tax based on how much crap your car exhaust dumps into the air and nothing at all to do with roads upkeep. The government scoop all this cash up from motorists and give them nowt in return basically. The roads round here are abysmal but when your vehicle gets damaged, the council will try to wriggle out of paying up for repairs and as for the pothole repairs getting done, don't hold your breath.

Oh.. they do sometimes repair the potholes, just a shame that their repairs only last for a couple of weeks if you're lucky...

Surely there must be a better way of filling in potholes that will last?

Yeah resurface the roads properly like they used to do and stop patching them. Water gets in the seams of the patch and then blows as soon as frost hits it, that is if the rain hasnt washed it all away before then.
