Default Sharing with stranger on Scotland-London sleeper train to be banned

"Sharing with stranger on Scotland-London sleeper train to be banned

Sharing with a stranger on Scotland-London sleeper trains is to be banned from next month – with lone passengers facing a 65 per cent fare hike. ...

However, from 26 February, they will have to pay for a separate room, with fares starting at £140 compared to £85 to share. ..."

I have only used the Inverness - London sleeper twice (quite a few years ago) when travelling second class meant that passengers might have to share, the first time there wasn't anyone else in the cabin but the second time there was (a complete stranger), which seemed weird.

Removing the sharing option and the resulting price hike, might well deter some people from using a sleeper cabin.

I guess they will have to also remove the ads from the local dogging site too.....

There will be new rolling stock shortly with ensuite facilities. Given that the sleeper delivers you right into, the heart of London, it's worth the extra money.
