Field Workers Post Caithness KLICS (Kids Living In Caring Situations) A 3 year funded post
Field Worker 25 hours per week @ £12.00 per hr + Mileage (Closing date 22/11/2017)
Holiday entitlement will be 140 hrs per year.

The applicant must hold a clean driving licence and be prepared to use their own vehicle
Must have experience in working with Vulnerable children
Must work well as a team or be self-motivated, must have experience of being a team leader

Work with Young Carers:

1. To assist in the preparation of methods to ensure that the young people are adequately supported the full participation of young people in the development of a young carers’ service.
2. To maintain contact with young people through activity days, focused group work,
3. To assist in providing outreach work where distance or circumstances preclude attendance at the centre.
4. In conjunction with other Project staff organise and run an activity/group work programme for young carers.
5. To support the Project Manager in the development of evaluation and monitoring systems for the work of the Project.
6. Maintain confidentiality over personal information relating to individual users of the service.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

1. To work closely with young carers by regular contact, group activities and assessments, To work closely alongside the Project Manager of the running of the project.
2. To attend school Joint Agency and Focus meetings and prepare the necessary material for such meetings.
3. Organising and attending meetings for young carers.
4. To be aware of the role and responsibilities of statutory agencies, voluntary organisations and all relevant services.

2. To the development of group activities and peer support for young carers.
3. To create and maintain a range of services to support the young carers.
4. To promote awareness of the needs and issues of young carers to other care and educational professionals.
5. To focus attention on those in need and to promote services which will support young carers.
6. To help signpost relevant agencies and support services for young carers and to assist in the development of such support services.
