    (Salary: Band 5 22,440 - 29,034/Band 6 26,830 - 35,933)


    An opportunity has arisen for a registered mental health nurse to work within our supportive mental health team in the far north of Scotland. The post is based in Caithness and there are regular rail, bus and flights available.

    Ideally you will have skills and experience working collaboratively with working age adults in the community. The client group are people experiencing both both acute and complex enduring mental health problems which is often further complicated by other health conditions i.e. ASD, addictions, mild learning disability etc. The postholder will be highly skilled and confident in the delivery of a range of recovery-based approaches appropriate for the client group. They will have the ability to autonomously manage their workload safely and effectively, demonstrating enhanced skills such as clinical risk assessment / management and positive risk taking. They will also be responsible for training and support to students and wider colleagues. Although previous experience is preferred we welcome applicants who can demonstrate willingness and commitment to develop in this specialised area.

    The successful candidate will hold a current valid registration with the NMC. A degree or equivalent specialist knowledge is required. If applyiing for the Band 6, extensive band 5 post registration experience with working age adults is required. Experience in community mental health is preferred but consideration will be given to candidates who can demonstrate they have the transferrable skills and experience to work autonomously within a remote and rural area.

    This is a permanent full-time post, working 37.5 hours per week. In addition you are required to participate in an on call rota which includes provision of a place of safety and escort to New Craig’s Hospital service in Inverness. A current driving licence is essential for this post and a leased car will be offered to the successful candidate.
