SVQ Internal Quality Assurer (IV) - Work Based Engineering Qualifications

North Highland College is looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic, forward thinking and highly motivated individual to undertake internal quality assurance of work based learners undertaking Engineering SVQ qualifications.

The successful applicant will have the required background in an Engineering (or related) discipline, to allow for the internal quality assurance (IQA) of the assessment process at SVQ level 2-4 within the Highlands and Islands. Ideally, you will possess the Verifier Awards and have previous IQA experience up to and including SVQ level 3. You will also have previous knowledge of the Engineering sector. If you are not in possession of the Verifier Awards you must commit to achieving the qualification and full training will be given.

You must be able to demonstrate highly developed communication skills in order work along with the current SVQ team members and communicate effectively with assessors and centre-coordinator. You must possess IT skills appropriate to supporting assessors at a distance. This is a temporary part-time position for initially one year. A commitment of around 275 hours/year will be required to undertake this role effectively. Flexible working arrangements, to meet the needs of the assessors is essential and you will be required to travel to meet assessors within their place of work.
