Woman is alleged to have stolen school funds

A WOMAN, accused of embezzling money from the local high school where she worked, will stand trial in the summer.

A date was finally fixed, at June 22, and will take place before a jury at Wick Sheriff Court.

Dawn Budge, 58, of 13 Leishman Avenue, Wick, denies on indictment, stealing just over 900 while employed as an administrative assistant at Wick High School, between August 1, 2013 and April 14, 2014.

Some difficulty was experienced in finding a date, that would be suitable to the accused and not disrupt class work - some of the teachers are due to give evidence.

The June choice is just after exams and before the school holidays.
