Woman is alleged to have stolen school funds

A WOMAN, accused of embezzling money from the local high school where she worked, will stand trial in the summer.

A date was finally fixed, at June 22, and will take place before a jury at Wick Sheriff Court.

Dawn Budge, 58, of 13 Leishman Avenue, Wick, denies on indictment, stealing just over £900 while employed as an administrative assistant at Wick High School, between August 1, 2013 and April 14, 2014.

Some difficulty was experienced in finding a date, that would be suitable to the accused and not disrupt class work - some of the teachers are due to give evidence.

The June choice is just after exams and before the school holidays.
