Teachers to give evidence in school cash trial

TEACHERS will be among the witnesses due to give evidence in a case involving one of their office staff accused of embezzlement.

This emerged during a progress report on the arrangements for Dawn Budge's forthcoming trial at Wick Sheriff Court. The 58-year-old, of 13 Leishman Avenue, Wick, denies stealing £909 while employed as an administrative assistant at the town's High School, between August 1, 2013 and April 14, 2014.

The court was told yesterday that a new date for the trial will be fixed tomorrow. Efforts are being made to find a calendar window that will minimise disruption to the school's commitments, particularly exams.
