Teachers to give evidence in school cash trial

TEACHERS will be among the witnesses due to give evidence in a case involving one of their office staff accused of embezzlement.

This emerged during a progress report on the arrangements for Dawn Budge's forthcoming trial at Wick Sheriff Court. The 58-year-old, of 13 Leishman Avenue, Wick, denies stealing 909 while employed as an administrative assistant at the town's High School, between August 1, 2013 and April 14, 2014.

The court was told yesterday that a new date for the trial will be fixed tomorrow. Efforts are being made to find a calendar window that will minimise disruption to the school's commitments, particularly exams.
