Wick man alleged to have caused damage

A WICK man has been accused of fireraising at a house in the town.

David Webb, 46,denies on indictment, setting fire to combustible material in a room at 35 Huddart Street whereby the flames took hold and the premises were extensively damaged and that he acted wilfully; or, alternatively that he culpably and recklessly set fire to combustible material whereby the room was destroyed.


Webb, described as a prisoner at Inverness Prison, appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court, yesterday and was further remanded. A date for his trial will be fixed on Friday.


The charges followed an incident in Huddart Street, on November 24.
