Charges involve drugs, firearms and gunpowder

A MAN facing charges involving drugs, firearms and gunpowder, made a second appearance in court today..


Fifty-five-year-old Peter Lambert made no plea or declaration during his appearance in private, at Wick Sheriff Court and was fully committed. He was further remanded in custody.

Lambert, whose address was given as St Albans, was charged under the Misuse of Drugs Act, of producing a controlled drug, and the Firearms and Explosive Acts.

A section of the A9 on the east coast of Caithness, was closed for time, on December 18 and a 100-metre cordon was placed around a rural cottage at Mybster. A Royal Navy bomb disposal team were called in, after a suspicious package was discovered.
