Thread: Farage is new Foreign Secretary

  1. #1

Default Farage is new Foreign Secretary

After Trump's successful election to become the next president of the USA our own political elite made grudging congratulatory phone calls and continue with the the pompous standoff. Meanwhile, to fill the diplomatic vacuum, Nigel Farage has popped over to make face to face contact with Mr Trump.

Well done Nigel. Good communication is the whole point of diplomacy. Nothing will change by making suitably worded phone calls.

It's just a pity it's not May or Sturgeon that are making the same effort to talk face to face.

I realise this is normally the page for snide comments about the SNP, but is the elevation of Farage, an unelectable right-wing nutter "running", if that's the word, a party of weirdos and bigots who spend their time assaulting each other and resigning from leadership races, an occasion for unbridled joy?

Gloom and despondency, more like but isn't it nice to know that Trump isn't 'scared' of being president and that all those bigots that you speak of, whom his rhetoric has unleashed, make him very very sad and should simply 'stop it'. Bless!

How can someone "unelectable" be elected to MEP?
Patriotism is when love of your own people comes first; Nationalism, when hate for people other than your own comes first.

Right enough, it's his multiple failures to become an MP I was thinking of. Clean forgot his starring role in jeering at his fellow MEPs.

2015: "Nicola Sturgeon has stripped Donald Trump from his role as a business ambassador for Scotland" November 2016: "Nicola Sturgeon has written to Donald Trump congratulating him on becoming US president."
