Mr Chlebos, 33, a motor mechanic, underwent emergency surgery in hospital for five stab wounds, following an incident there in the early hours It happened after the two men arrived home after shopping in Thurso and shared a few drinks. Mr Chlebos had been visiting the accused and it was the last day before the end of his holidays..

Mr Chlebos told Wick Sheriff Court, today, on the second day of the trial before a jury, that he was attacked when he was sitting in a chair and pursued through the cottage to a bedroom where he ended up covered in blood, trying to defend himself.
