Insight into mountain rescue emergencies by team member

THE dangers, risks and sometimes tragic outcomes of mountain climbing challenges in Scotland have frequently been highlighted in the news in recent months.

One man who appreciates what's involved is Charlie Macleod from Ulbster, a member of the Assynt Mountain Rescue Team.

He is due to give a film show and talk on the work of mountain rescue dogs at the Heron Room of the Norseman Hotel, tomorrow night (Friday). The event, hosted by Caithness Heart Support Group, starts at 7.30pm.

The admission charge of £3 includes tea/coffee and shortbread.
