French woman alleged to have caused death of Thurso woman

A FRENCH woman has been accused of driving carelessly and causing the death of a passenger in another car in a collision on a north section of the A9.

France Lautier denied the charge on indictment through an agent, at Wick Sheriff Court yesterday, and will stand trial on June 20.

The 64-year-old is alleged to have crossed hazard warning lines on the road at Ramscraigs, near Dunbeath village, in Caithness, into the path of a Jaguar. The woman who died was 71-year-old Elizabeth Williams, from Thurso. .
