Out-on-licence accused admits disorderly conduct

A WICK man has been remanded after pleading guilty to a breach of the peace.
George McPhee, 48, appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court and also admitted a record.
It was stated that he engaged in a fight in an alley near the Wetherspoon Bar, in Market Place, Wick, on January 31.
Solicitor Fiona MacDonald said that McPhee, of 2 North Murchison Street, Wick, had been trying to get his life back on track The accused had been the subject of an early release from prison on a previous, unrelated offence, and until the current charge, had not been drinking. He was carer for his 80-year old mother who didn't keep well.
Sheriff Andrew Berry, who acknowledged McPhee's effort to come to terms with his drinking, made the point that his previous term of imprisonment was for an assault and there was some degree of violence involved in his latest offence.
Sentence was deferred until March 3 when the sheriff will consider a background report.
