"Sorry to lose you" says sheriff at fiscal's final criminal court

A TRIBUTE was paid at the weekend to Wick fiscal depute David Barclay who is moving to a new post in Dundee.
He was praised at the conclusion of his final criminal court at the weekend, comprising a list of some 44 cases.
Sheriff Andrew Berry recalled having welcomed Mr Barclay seven years ago and went on to say that the court was grateful to him for all his assistance during that time.
Sheriff Berry added: "We are sorry to lose him...he will be hard to replace". The sheriff concluded by expressing the hope that Mr Barclay would keep in touch and maintain his links with the far north.
Later in the day, Mr Barclay was honured at a presentation ceremony attended by court staff and members of the local bar.
