Default A good idea for Caithness sand dunes?

This looks like it would help the dunes and re use all those used Christmas trees

If it's to stop the sand being moved by the wind, isn't that how the dunes got there?

Yes over time and without grass to hold it down.

Is there not a forest in The Dunes at Dunnet already?
There is also a similar area in those at Sandside too.

This was tried many moons ago. If you look on the dunes side of the road you will see a few trees doing their best to grow.

Only if the Christmas trees have roots. It certainly won't work with trees without roots.
A 1991 Gallup survey indicated that 49 percent of Americans didn't know that white bread is made from wheat.

Not meant for trees with roots in the hope that they take root. Just somewhere to dispose of the used trees plus the old trees keep the sand stable from the wind until the dune grass takes over Growing trees on the sand dunes would not be a good idea, the growing trees would put the dune grass in the shade and stop it from growing. Just an interim measure I think.
