"Commit another traffic offence and you will be banned" - sheriff

A SHERIFF has told a 92mph speeder that he came "very close" to being disqualified.
The driver, Steven Mackay, 40, was warned by Sheriff Andrew Berry that if he committed a further road traffic offence, a ban would be "inevitable".
Mackay was clocked on the 60mph limit Hemriggs straight on September 15. The court at Wick heard that his job as an overhead linesman depended on him being able to drive. He would lose his employment if a ban was imposed.
Sheriff Berry said he took that into account along with the accused's early plea.
Mackay, of 23 Green Road, Wick, was fined £320 and incurred four penalty points.
