Default Oil & Gas Revenues down 94%

Yesterday we heard the announcement that Oil and Gas Revenues are down by 94%.

With no sign of the much vaunted secret oil fields having shed their cloaking devices and appeared and the downturn in oil prices staying for a while it seems. It's now time to pause and consider we now raise more taxes from Betting and gaming than oil and gas.

Over production of oil globally wont go away tomorrow, anyway the get out of jail card has been played already........Oil is just a bonus isnt it ? ....fortuntatly Swinney see's reality and is now on record, given yesterdays events that he will have hard choices to make....taxes / unfreezing council tax, service cut backs of courses its all the fault of big bad westminster. But as you illustrate and the world now knows a free scotland would be facing a monumental fiscal crisis so Ospourne holds all the aces here and frankly we should be glad of what we get from rUK otherwise we would be in one hell of a mess.

Budget fact: Scotland now raises more through betting and gaming duties (£163m) than it does from oil & gas revenues (£130m OBR estimate).
