Default South Ayr By Election down to the wire by Conservatives

Contrary to popular belief the SNP aren't the preferred party when a local by election goes down to wire with SNP only winning on second votes maybe the swing back has started.

    First preferences

    Conservatives 1527 (38.5 % )

    SNP 1507 (38%)

    Labour 642 (16.2 % )

    Independent 218 (5.5% )

    Green 76 (1.9%)

    Second Preferences

    SNP 1775

    Conservative 1740

SNP have a majority of 35

Hardly the party of first choice for the people of Ayr

Aye it was a miss but it also shows the biggest swing away from the SNP for quite some time, not the landslide they predicted only won on second presences.

By-election? It's just some pipsqueak council rubbish!
