Assault accused remanded after sheriff court appearance

A THURSO man is facing two charges of assault and one of threatening behaviour.

Douglas Peter Wilkie made no plea or declaration when he appeared on petition at Wick Sheriff Court today.

The 30-year-old was remanded in custody pending further inquiry. The charges follow an incident in Thurso, on Tuesday.

In a separate petition case, a Thurso teenager was accused of being in possession of a knife in a public place. Seventeen-year-old Aaron Harrison is also facing an additional charge of wasting police time. He was released on bail, pending further inquiry.

The offences are said to have occurred in Thurso on Wednesday.
