Accused has scant regard for court orders says sheriff

A YOUNG man said by a sheriff to have scant regard for court orders, was jailed for 108 days yesterday.
Digger driver Adam Hope, 24, breached a bail condition two days after it was imposed at Inverness on December 22, 2014.
He accepted an invitation from partner, Sarah Bartholemew - he was banned from seeing her - to enjoy their young daughter opening her Christmas presents at her home in Grant Street, Wick. He stayed over night into Christmas Day.
However Wick Sheriff Court heard that the couple subsequently argued and Ms Bartholemew report his bail breach to the police.
Highlighting Hope's "uneviable record" Sheriff Andrew Berry told him that he appeared to "do as you please" regarding court orders, and added that a prison term was the only appropirate sentence which would also act as a warning to other such offenders.
Hope was now said to be living in Shetland at 2 Craigpark Road, Scalloway.
