    Question help

    hi does anyone have a bisc recipe as my wee boy bought one of they scobby doo mixes and it had the cutter in it and arter doing them he asked to buy them again so i thought if i could get a bisc recipe i could save money thank you

    shortbread
    8oz plain flour
    4 oz butter or hard marg
    2oz castor sugar
    whizz in food prossessor until combined
    rest in fridge for 1/2 hour
    roll out and cut into shapes
    cook for 30-40 mins in the oven at 325F about 170-180c
    allow to cool for a short time before moving
    let them cool on a rack before decorating or storing!

    Lemon biscuits
    4oz butter or hard marg
    3oz caster sugar
    6oz plain flour
    grated lemon rind
    1 small egg

    method 1
    cream butter and sugar add flour, lemon rind and mix to a stiff consistency with egg
    put in fridge to firm
    roll out thinly and put holes in it with a fork and cut into biscuits
    bake it a moderate oven for 15 mins 170-180 C
    method 2
    put all ingredients it mixer switch on full blast cross fingers hope for the best
    put in fridge to firm up

    Question traybakes?

    Thinking of biscuits .....does anyone have good traybake recipes?

    I've managed to lose some of the ones I had (moved house once too often I think )

    hope this helps angela

    basic traybake recipe
    6oz soft marg
    8oz sr flour
    1.1/2 level tsps baking powder
    6oz sugar
    3 eggs
    3tbsp milk

    180oc, gas 4, grease and line 12x9 roasting tin

    beat all 2 mins, put in tin smooth top, bake 35-40 mins, cut in 21 pieces

    for fruit cake

    add 6-8 oz currants to mix and sprinkle 1 level tbsp demerara sugar over cake halfway through cooking time

    lemon cake
    add grated rind 1.1/2 lemons to mix, when cake comes out of oven mix juice of 1.1/2 lemons with 6oz sugar and spoon over hot cake

    black treacle cake
    use 4.1/2 oz sugar only in mix and add 7oz black treacle and 1.1/2 level tsps mixed spice

    chocolate cake
    blend 3 level tbsps cocoa with 3 tbsps hot water, add to mix, omit the milk unless cake mix seems stiff, but only about 1 tbsp should be needed
