Mum ordered to carry out unpaid community work

A NORTH mother, who punished her two children with a riding crop, has been ordered to carry out 75 hours unpaid work in the community.
In addition she will be under the supervision of a social worker for 18 months.
The mum, who can't be named for legal reasons, had previously admitted assaulting the children, on December 14, at Wick Sheriff Court.
The alarm was raised, after a teacher noticed marks on the body of one of the kids when he was tucking his shirt in at school. He had a five centimetre bruise and an eight centimetre one. The other youngster had been hit once which left a much smaller bruise.
