    Default Warning for bail breachers

Flouting court orders could attract custodial sentences - sheriff

OFFENDERS who flout bail orders, could face custodial sentences.
The warning was issued by Sheriff Andrew Berry, today when he sentenced Wick teenager Morgan Stubbings to four months detention.
The 16-year-old admitted appeared from custody and admitted breaching a 7pm-7am curfew confining him to his home at 30 Battery Road, Wick, between these hours. He was spotted by police in the town, on December 14 and was arrested after attempting to run away, the local sheriff court was told.
Commenting on Stubbings' record, described as "a sorry catalogue of offending", mainly involving disobeying court orders, Sheriff Berry imposed the custodial sentence to "bring home to people that these must be complied with and must not be repeatedly flouted".
The detention sentence is backdated to December 15 when Stubbings was remanded.
