Accused on forklift charges
Alleged to have removed vehicle without permission and caused damage
A THURSO man is alleged to have removed a forklift from a quarry site in the county without permission and driven it on public roads without licence and insurance.
Ryan Beresford is also accused of failing to provide two specimens of breath to police.
The 22-year-old also denied further charges of causing damage to vehicles, a lamp-post, a fluid tank, a wall and a large section of flagstone, while manoeuvring the forklift.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred at Achscrabster Quarry, on Saturday. Beresford, of The Smithy, Achscrabster Farm, Cottages, near Thurso, was granted bail when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court today.
He will stand trial on all the charges on January 6 and will meantime be subject to a 7pm-7am curfew.
