Passport office set to make millions

It seems the passport office is set to make millions if Scotland becomes independent as British passports will no longer be valid.
Individuals will have to hold either a Scottish or English passport, depending on their nationality.
The passport office is set to deal with this by haveing extra staff on standby.

A few points.
Irespective of the result passports will remain valid.
Why either Scottish or English , did Wales and Ireland dissapear?
Would Scotland not have its own passport office and as far as I can remember it has already been stated that passports would remain valid untiul they need renewed regardless of independace and why would they have staff ready for something that will take 2 years to sort out
