Ashleigh Morris and Morris Motorsport are delighted to announce that she has been chosen as one of five young drivers awarded the SMRC Rising Stars prize. This is given to young drivers who have shown potential over the 2014 race season. The award is judged on driver performance, track behaviour, commitment to the sport, professionalism and attitude to officials and spectators. The prize includes joining the MSA Masterclass which involves training on media skills, driver training, diet, fitness, attracting sponsors and other aspects of professional race driving. It also includes a guided tour of the McLaren Formula One factory and the McLaren GT factory where the Rising Stars will get to see the inner workings of a successful racing operation along with advice on how to progress a career in racing. This is something that she never imagined when she first sat in a race car in September 2013.
Ashleigh would also like to add that without the support and sponsorship she has received from DR Alexander & Son, Thurso Tyre Centre, Sandy Coghill, The Comm Bar Thurso, Evans Waterless Coolants, Cairnsmill Caravan Park and Signright Inverness she wouldn’t have achieved this award so considers it to be a joint effort by all involved with Ashleigh and BMW Compact Cup Car 77 and she is proud to be associated with all of you.

She would also like to thank Greg Graham, Steve Emslie, Alan Kirkaldy, Si Laing, Carol & Phil and the North East Autobody boys who have given Ashleigh all the encouragement and words of advice over the last few months, most of whom she didn’t even know 1 year ago.
