Sheriff will consider question of vehicle forfeiture next month

A FOUR-TIMES plus drinks driver has had his car impounded.

James Sutherland, 55, admitted the offence when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court today.
He was caught by police at the junction of the A9 with Neil Gunn Road, Dunbeath village, on Sunday. Tests revealed a breath alcohol-level of 147mgs -the legal limit is 35mgs.
Sentence was deferred for a background report until August 22 when Sheriff Andrew Berry will also decide on whether the vehicle will be forfeit.
Sutherland, of The Willows, Dunbeath, is banned meantime.
