Sour note for whistler as he heads for a spell in the cells
THE SHERIFF at Wick has again made it clear he will not tolerate bad behaviour in the public benches.
Sheriff Andrew Berry ordered one young man to leave the court, a woman was told to go and get rid of what she was chewing and instructed the duty constable to escort another teenager to the cells for whistling to a friend and making sarcastic comments.
Sheriff Berry has taken steps in the past to ensure he is not distracted from his deliberations, making the point that it is essential his concentration is not broken when he is listening to the procurator fiscal and solicitors and making critical decisions.
Juice bottles and mobile phones that go off, have also been outlawed.
