    Default Court order breach alleged

Accused of sending unwanted text messages

A WICK man has denied breaching a court order by sending messages to a 60-year-old woman.

Brian Steele, 43, was further remanded in custody after bail request was refused by Sheriff Andrew Berry, at Wick, on Monday.(June 2)
The charge relates to a Sexual Offences Prevention order granted at Dornoch Sheriff Court on March 22, 2010. It banned Steele from engaging in persistent behaviour towards any female which was likely to cause her alarm and distress.
The accused is alleged to have sent "unsolicited and unwanted" text messages to the woman, between May 23 and 29, this year, claiming to have been in a sexual relationship with her and requesting a photo of her.
Steele, of 1 Macleod Road, Wick, will stand trial on June 27.
