Grant Campbell returns to Harmsworth Park

WICK ACADEMY have recruited a former Scorrie until recently captain of another Highland League side Huntly F.C.and hope that the new signing will give their new season challenge an added boost.

Grant Campbell has opted to re-join is home town club after submitting a transfer request.
Academy approached Huntly to table an interest after discussing the approach with the 1st Team Manager Gordon Connelly and as a result, permission was granted by Huntly Chairman George Clark too speak to Grant.
It was down to Grant’s eagerness to return home that made this transfer possible and as a result personal terms were quickly agreed.
Wick secretary and interim chairman, Alan Farquhar, said they were “absolutely delighted” to be able to acquire such a talented and versatile player of undoubted quality, with vast experience who “can only enhance and improve the current squad.”.
Mr Farquhar paid tribute to Mr Clark and secretary Alix Turner for the very professional manner in which they dealt with the transfer enabling it all to happen very quickly.
Mr Clark commented “Naturally, we are disappointed to lose a player of Grant’s calibre. During his 132 appearances for Huntly his desire and commitment for the club was always exemplary. However, we fully understand his desire to play for his local club once again, and wish him well for the future “.
