Don't poke the bear ! ! !
Yesterday we went up to John O' Groats for lunch and I was surprised to see a new signpost at John O' Groats where visitors are not ripped off for taking a picture near the signpost. Of course tourists can still pay for a photograph at the original signpost as it has been relocated over in the caravan car park area. I did not see many tourists at the old signpost, nor at John O' Groats.
Interestingly the new signpost is not in Gaelic as it is a private signpost I was told, not put up by the Highland Council.
Don't poke the bear ! ! !
It should be in Dutch. Jan de Groote was Dutch and there's no record of him having spoke gaelic,
'We are more alike, my friends, than we are unalike.'

Any body that matters would nor understand it anyway
They appear to have pre-empted a Yes vote on the 25th of September, when Orkney, Shetland and the Westerns Isles becomes a republic, and relieve Highland Council of their obligations to provide Gaelic signs.
