Former Runrig frontman Donnie Munro, who has enjoyed considerable further success as a solo artist and writer, has recently embarked on a series of acoustic shows where he has taken the opportunity of revisiting a wide range of material spanning his career with Runrig and with his own band.
The acoustic project has already resulted in major sell out shows in Denmark and Munro has a string of UK shows booked for 2014, including at the Assembly Rooms in Wick on Friday 30th May.
Donnie will be joined on stage by Eric Cloughley and Shetland fiddler Maggie Adamson, and the support act will be announced soon.
Munro is currently making plans for a new acoustic album in the nature of a musical anthology. Munro's 'Heart of America' album was recently voted Album of the Year in the Scottish Trads Awards and his concept album and live show 'An Turas-the journey' was greeted with great critical acclaim.
