Report will focus on background to user's record

A Caithness sheriff has called for a report on a drug user with a history.
Unemployed Derek Moore, 36, pleaded guilty when he appeared at Wick Sheriff Court, today, on his latest offence, possession of five diazepam tablets.
The Class C drugs were discovered by police when they searched his home at 3 Cruives House, Mount Vernon, Thurso, on December 5, last year.
Sheriff Andrew Berry said that in light of Moore's record, stretching back some 20 years and included two convictions for possession since his latest offence, a background report was necessary to see if there was an underlying problem that could be addressed. Moore will reappear for sentence on April 2.
