Quite an impressive display tonight shame I can't take any pics of them
I have been out a few times and no show, if there was a fine display, how do you take a photo without having to read two hundred pages of instructions on your camera?
A man who fears suffering is already suffering from what he fears.
Well I can tell you I have no clue with my camera and iPad and IPhone worse than useless
Where are you ? I'm in East Clyth and can't see any

Richard
great display over Thurso/Scrabster just now
Brilliant display at this moment 20.35 Thursday
It seemed to cover half the visible sky for about 20 minutes - amazing
There appears top be 2 threads on this - my post on the other thread follows...
Agreed !
To those of you on computers in Caithness now - switch off and go outside!
Message below was posted on my FB page about 10 mins ago... and I'm off outside again in 2 minutes..
Been outside for the past half hour watching the Northern Lights. This is the best display I've seen in years. Sitting in silence - apart from the owls crying every 5 minutes - is a fantastic experience. It reminds me why I've been in Caithness for 31 of the last 34 years. Loving it !
Green but not brainwashed
Using the sun to provide hot water.
Driving a car that gets 73 miles per gallon.....
It has taken me almost a decade to see them. Sometimes I have thought that I might have seen them, but was never sure. Now I am sure! Brilliant. Beautiful! Still going strong above Keiss at 22:00 tHURSDAY
An expert is one who knows more and more about less and less until he knows absolutely everything about nothing
They are getting bigger as the night goes on apparently they can be seen quite a way down the country at the moment
Been out watching for a good while with two friends up visiting from Cumbria, absolutely brilliant here on outskirts of Stornoway.

Not a patch on what your seeing up there, but gobsmacked I've seen 'em in the middle of a city!
Manchester with all its light pollution....
What time do they switch the lights on? ;-)
Just after Tesco closes,I think.
