Thread: Anyone waiting for plant delivery in Mey by hermes? Surname Dove

Default Anyone waiting for plant delivery in Mey by hermes? Surname Dove

This is a bit of a long shot. but we have had a parcel (plants) delivered to our house last Wednesday 4th Dec and since then have been trying to track down the person it should have been delivered to, a Mrs D. Dove from The Cottage, Mey. It was delivered by Hermes last Wednesday and placed in our back shed. There was no contact number on the card. Today I suspect the delivery driver may have been looking for the package as our gate rope had been tied in the same knot as last week and our shed was left open and the cats were let out, these dark winter nights we liked to know where they are and one has a health issue at the moment. I am absolutely mad that someone has no respect for people's property, why not put a card with a phone number through the door? So if anyone knows of a Mrs Dove waiting for her plants can you send me a PM, don't want the same happening next week.

    Thanks

I think this is a case of "Driver cannot be bothered to find address". I would contact Hermes directly. There should be some kind of serial number on the parcel. Explain to them what has happened and they should be able to track who delivered the parcel. I hope your cats have not gone missing. X

Just a Thought have you looked in the telephone Book to see if you can find the person?

Unfortunately too many people hereabouts don't display their house name anywhere near the road, making any delivery driver's job nigh on impossible. They have little choice, drop the item off at a sympathetic local or return it to their depot.
I pass through Mey all the time and can't remember ever noticing 'The Cottage'.

The driver was probably driving that fast he missed it.

Thanks all to the replies. I have looked through the telephone book but no joy. We have been to the house in Mey at various hours but never any sign of life, any other time there has been a car outside or lights on. Luckily the cats came back but they were very shaken up and one now refuses to go out at all unless we are with her otherwise she comes running back inside. I know our address is very similar to the house in Mey but we are not in Mey. Maybe these drivers have targets to meet but a little more care wouldn't go a miss. I believe the lady who I'm trying to track down is having a house built so going to see if I can catch anyone there. Hermes will be getting a letter regarding this. Thank god the driver at least had the sense to close the yard gate otherwise our livestock could have got out. Padlocks have now been bought and a note put up in our conservatory asking delivery men to be sure they have the correct address, though maybe he is a new driver to the area. Not many things rile me like this but if anything had seriously happened to our cats, through no fault of our own we'd be heart broken.

I think it may be the lady who was renting the COTTAGE and is building a house up the lane where the Mey post office used to be second left up lane

the car is usually at the new house build (burgendy/red rover ,the build is just below west lodge on the track that runs up through the hedges at the bus stop. doubt youll find a phone number as the COTTAGE has just recently been rented it was vacant for a while after the last renter moved(not saying who) the COTTAGE is part of Mey castle properties. Hope this helps in someway, hope the cats are okay
