Hi I am needing some advice on the best way to clearly photograph small shiny objects, I have tried with the camera set on macro but still cant get the lighting right, any tips much apreciated Thanks

Try taking a piccy from further away at the highest possible resolution your camera can manage & then cropping the piccy down.

I would go with the light tent set up, especially for really small things like jewellery, that's what a lot of business sellers use. Depending on what kind of camera you have you can also get macro filters.
yes a light tent would help cut out all the surrounding light
i think macro filters are enough to capture tiny objects like jewlery etc
