Court interrupted
Kill-the-drill request after nuisance noise halts court
COURT business was interrupted at Wick, yesterday, after Sheriff Andrew Berry declared that the noise of a pneumatic drill outside, was proving impossible to compete with.
It happened shortly after he started hearing the first criminal cases. The sheriff asked the duty court policeman to seek out the ‘offending’ operator - probably engaged on the construction of the new council offices in Market Square - and the noise stopped shortly afterwards.
