    Accused of threatening police families at station

    A THURSO man has been accused of having been drunk and incapable in the town and abusive and threatening conduct at the police station.
    Unemployed Francis McPhee, 24, of 6 Macpherson Walk, Thurso, pleaded not guilty when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court, yesterday and was further remanded pending his trial on October 13.
    The charge alleges that after being arrested in Traill Street, Thurso, on Monday, he shouted and swore at police officers at Wick police station and made threats about what he would do to members of their families.

    Denies striking son


    A CAITHNESS father has denied assaulting his 14-year-old son.
    The father, who can’t be named for legal reasons, is alleged to have struck the teenager on the head and kicked him on the body, at their home, on September 20.
    The 32-year-old accused appeared from custody and was granted bail, pending his trial on January 22.
