Bulk supply was for personal use claim
POLICE who raided a Wick man's home discovered a substantial stash of cocaine.
Mark Mackay, 24, admitted possession of 11.7 gms of the Class A drug, and a previous unrelated conviction.
Wick Sheriff Court heard that Mackay, of Seaforth Avenue, Wick, "freely admitted" to police he was a drug addict, when officers raided his home on January 11.
He told them he took two-to-three grams, daily, funded from his job as a mechanic but maintained that his supply was for his own use having bought in bulk to obtain a discount.
Mackay was fined £1,400.

Struggled with police

Garry Mann resented police who called at his home to tell him for the second time to tone down his party noise.
Mann, 20, who had been drinking, made his feelings known to them in some colourful language, the court was told today.
He admitted charges of threatening or abusive behaviour at his then home in Holborn Avenue, Thurso, on September 7, last year, and resisting arrest. The electrician stiffened his arms by his sides and struggled, it was stated.
Solicitor Zoe McDonald said that Mann, now living at 6 Trostan Terrace, Thurso, with his partner and young son, had not been impressed with the attitude of the officers and had responded with "a show of bravado".
Mann, who has a record, was fined £195.
