Accused forged granny's signature to pay for car
Alan Thomson did a deal for a car...only trouble was he had forged his grandmother’s signature on the cheque he paid it with.
Thomson, 23, admitted uttering the cheque as genuine and had his case continued for reports.
Wick Sheriff Court was told yesterday, that he had purchased the car from a man in Wick, on March 5.
Fiscal depute, David Barclay, described the deception as “an enterprise doomed to failure”, the signature being “basic” and “amateurish”.
Thomson, of 20 Bishop’s Drive, West Gills, Caithness, was said to be addressing drink and drug issues with support from his family and medical agencies.
He will reappear for sentence on July 26.
