Thurso driver will stand trial at Wick Court

A THURSO motorist has denied driving while more than four times the legal limit.
Graham Rowbotham, 53, of 9 Brabster, Street, Thurso, pleaded not guilty when he appeared from custody at Wick Sheriff Court today.
The charge alleges that he had a breath-alcohol level of 151mgs - the limit is 35mgs - when he was stopped by police in Sir George's Street, Thurso, on Sunday.
Sheriff Andrew Berry granted an application by the prosecution to have the accused's car impounded until the outcome of the case is known after his trial on October 30th.


September trial date fixed

TWO people have been accused of producing the Class B drug cannabis at their home.
Fifty-one year olds, Alastair Baldock, and Kay Watt, of The Bungalow, Braehour, Scotscalder, both pleaded not guilty, on Friday, to the offence, said to have been committed on March 31.
Watt has denied an additional charge of removing cannabis plants with intent to pervert the course of justice.
The pair will stand trial on September 18.
